What is it?

Martin Landau is a framework enabling analysis and study of Scrabble® brand crossword games. The primary goal of the project is to provide a suite of tools for competitive Scrabble players to improve their play, as well as push the limits of what is known about the game itself.

To date, the Martin Landau framework has been used in research experiments to improve methods of adaptive sampling and search in imperfect information games. This work is by no means restricted to Scrabble® brand crossword games. Some of the results may have implications as broad as improving strategies to minimize collateral damage in clinical trials. To present a picture of Martin Landau's flexibility, it has been used in creating applications on hardware ranging from PDAs to supercomputers.

The aim of the project is now focusing towards developing cross-platform applications that are easy to use, but catered for the tournament-level player. There is clearly a great lack of such tools, so it is our hope that our project can fill that void!
